r. Ramos Missing teeth can have a severe detrimental impact on your oral health. If you don’t replace missing teeth, your remaining teeth will suffer and begin to migrate to fill the gap. Over time, your jawbone will start to recede, causing your face to change shape and you could even lose more teeth. Dr. Ramos puts a heavy emphasis on dental implants, and he has successfully restored the function of many of our patient’s mouths.
We offer dental implant options including:
Neuromuscular dentistry is done to correct the alignment, position or function of your jaw. When the jaw is misaligned, you may experience pain, headaches, ringing ears, and other TMJ symptoms. Your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a vital component to your oral health, and many patients don’t realize their pain is due to a TMJ disorder. Dr. Ramos has specialized training in TMJ treatment, and he can perform a neuromuscular evaluation to determine the source of your symptoms and develop a neuromuscular treatment plan specific to you.
TMJ disorders and sleep apnea share a strong connection, as a misaligned bite can cause your tongue to fall to the back of your mouth or throat, which then disrupts your breathing airways while you sleep. Conversely, sleep apnea can lead to TMJ issues because those with sleep apnea may grind or clench their teeth at night causing TMJ symptoms to arise.
If you’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea, Dr. Ramos can help develop a sleep apnea treatment plan for you with the help of your physician. Our dentist will also look for signs of TMJ to make sure your treatment is thorough and effective.
